1:1Paul and Timothy, slaves of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the overseers and deacons:
Compare
-
1:2Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Compare
-
1:3I thank my God upon all my remembrance of you,
Compare
-
1:4Always in my every petition on behalf of you all, making my petition with joy,
Compare
-
1:5For your fellowship unto the furtherance of the gospel from the first day until now,
Compare
-
1:6Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun in you a good work will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus;
Compare
-
1:7Even as it is right for me to think this concerning you all because you have me in your heart, since both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel you are all fellow partakers with me of grace.
Compare
-
1:8For God is my witness how I long after you all in the inward parts of Christ Jesus.
Compare
-
1:9And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in full knowledge and all discernment,
Compare
-
1:10So that you may approve by testing the things which differ and are more excellent, that you may be pure and without offense unto the day of Christ,
Compare
-
1:11Being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which is through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
Compare
-
1:12Now I want you to know, brothers, that the things concerning me have turned out rather to the advancement of the gospel,
Compare
-
1:13So that my bonds have become manifest as being in Christ among the whole Praetorian guard and to all the rest.
Compare
-
1:14And most of the brothers, being confident in the Lord because of my bonds, are more exceedingly bold to speak the word of God without fear.
Compare
-
1:15Some preach Christ even because of envy and strife, and some also because of good will,
Compare
-
1:16These out of love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the gospel.
Compare
-
1:17But the others announce Christ out of selfish ambition, not purely, thinking to raise up affliction in my bonds.
Compare
-
1:18What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truthfulness, Christ is announced; and in this I rejoice; yes, and I will rejoice;
Compare
-
1:19For I know that for me this will turn out to salvation through your petition and the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
Compare
-
1:20According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I will be put to shame, but with all boldness, as always, even now Christ will be magnified in my body, whether through life or through death.
Compare
-
1:21For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Compare
-
1:22But if I am to live in the flesh, if this to me is fruit for my work, then I do not know what I will choose.
Compare
-
1:23But I am constrained between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for this is far better;
Compare
-
1:24But to remain in the flesh is more necessary for your sake.
Compare
-
1:25And being confident of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of the faith,
Compare
-
1:26That your boast may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my coming again to you.
Compare
-
1:27Only, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, that whether coming and seeing you or being absent, I may hear of the things concerning you, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving together along with the faith of the gospel,
Compare
-
1:28And in nothing being frightened by the opposers, which is to them a proof of their destruction, but of your salvation, and that from God;
Compare
-
1:29Because to you it has been graciously granted on behalf of Christ not only to believe into Him but also to suffer on His behalf,
Compare
-
1:30Having the same struggle which you saw in me and now hear to be in me.
